Description
Winery Notes:
Wine of great pedigree produced in extremely limited quantity and endowed with all the characteristics that reward extensive cellaring. The grapes for this wine come from the 1.33 hectare (3.20 acres) Poggio SantEnrico Piccolo and the 3.65 hectare (8.76 acres) Poggio SantEnrico Grande vineyards. These are situated between 300 and 350 meters (~1,000ft) in elevation just outside the town of Montepulciano (Siena).
94 points Wine Spectator
Ripe black cherry, black currant and plum fruit marks this suave red. Rides the line between polished and muscular, with dense tannins shoring up the fruit, while iron, tobacco and wild herb elements add detail. Shows fine balance and length, promising a long life ahead. Drink now through 2036. 490 cases made, 180 cases imported.
